Paddle Round The Pier runs every year on the beautiful venue of Hove Lawns and features the very best in water, street & urban sports, live music, kids' entertainment, 'have a go' opportunities and much, much more. The 'Paddle' returns to Brighton & Hove this July (7th & 8th).

Paddle has always appealed to surfers and watersports enthusiasts, but remember this is a completely family-friendly event and everyone is welcome to get come and enjoy in the fun. Paddle gets over 50,000 visitors travelling in from far and wide to participate, but this year they want to be bigger and better than ever before. This is where you can help...

If you get involved you can expect: to paddle round the pier with your mates, stacks of great prizes, chances to try things for yourself, new bands to enjoy and mind blowing demonstrations to see, to be honest you'd be mad to miss it!

Palace To Paddle Swim (2.5K)

On Saturday July 7th at 8.30am is the Palace to Paddle Swim, brought to you by Brighton Tri Club and covers a distance of 2.5k! Offering both wetsuit and non-wetsuit categories for both males and females, this offers a great way for both experienced and in-experienced sea swimmers the chance to complete a swim around Brightons iconic Piers.

Paddle Something Unusual

This is our favourite. This Paddle category is the perfect opportunity to get those creative juices flowing whilst joining in the fun, whether you're a football club, pub team, business or a just group of mates - this is the time to Paddle Round The Pier on something unusual. In recent years there have been aeroplanes, beds and sheds - the only guidelines are to make it as ridiculous (but safe) as possible, raising plenty of money and have a spectacularly good laugh at doing it.

The Paddle

It’s a crazy idea so why do it? Well, because we can! This is where you grab your nearest surfboard, windsurf-board, Canoe, Kayak, bodyboard, Kitesurf-board, swim fins, Lilos’ (or check if your neighbours’ front door floats!) – to raise some money for some seriously good causes and have some fun!

World Record Attempt

Do you have a dog? Does your dog enjoy a good paddle? This year Paddle are attempting a new world record for 'most dogs on a paddleboard'. So bring down your hounds and be apart in this totally brilliant world record attempt and your dog could be a world record holder by the end of the day!

Did you know? After 21 successful years and raising over £300,000 for charity, Paddle is now a registered charity for the first time! This means Paddle will have a greater impact on the charitable organisations it supports, helping promote a healthy use of the seaside we love so much, whilst still having the same amount of fun!

Ocean Rescue

By getting involved, not only will you be raising essentials funds for some great charitable organisations but you will also be supporting a healthy seaside. Paddle have now teamed up with Vegware, a supplier of compostable materials, to become the UK's first compostable beach festival and joining the fight against plastic in our oceans. All of Paddle's suppliers will be using the compostable trays, cups and cutlery. Look out for Vegware on the day, they will be on hand to discuss these issues we are currently facing and helping to promote a message of environmental responsibility.
