VIDEO: Health and Social Care Secretary Jeremy Hunt Jeered By Demonstrators

It was billed as a routine meeting with front line staff and management at the Royal Sussex today (1st Feb)

The Department for Health has confirmed the Health and Social Care Secretary is on, what is being called, a routine visit. Meanwhile a spokesperson for the 'Save Our NHS' campaign group said:"Come and join Sussex Defend the NHS, at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. We'll be asking him why he's underfunding, understaffing, undermining our NHS!"

One of the protesters was a junior doctor from A and E. He explained they are working hard and developing ways to get patients through to beds as quick as they can but the lack of adult social care is contributing noticeably to the current waiting time and beds crisis.

Much to the pleasure of the crowd, the MP went to enter through the main entrance but after appearing to have gone the wrong way, then left to come back out again  to walk to another door a few yards along the pavement.
