Morning..Guy here filling you in with all the best bits from this mornings show..

Today's Power Shower Hour track...Duran Duran's 'Save a Prayer' from 1982...brings back memories of a school disco smooch...I think his name was Kevin. I was confused...

Bernie correctly guessed that Cheryl checks out shoes when she's clockin' a fella...and wins himself tickets to see their sold out gig at The Brighton Centre tomorrow night...

Mike popped in to talk 'Odd Job'...he's the owner of 'Triage' on the meeting house lane, which specialise very exclusive street wear for all..check out www.triagestore.co.uk.

Today was the first day of our 'Hair and Beauty Loft Makeover' comp. In a family fortunes styley, we did a survey of ten people in the Juice Office to find out the most famous female redhead...

We had Grace and Louise on the phone...Grace went for Lindsay Lohan...didn't tally with our survey results but Louise got the top answer with Nicole Kidman...who got a whopping 40% of the Juice vote...

Louise wins a cut and colour, Indian head massage and will also get her nails painted courtesy of Hair and Beauty Loft on George St in Hove.

Jo was our lucky winner in today's Beachdown Festival ticket giveaway.

We talked about some of the Juice events over the weekend...

A sold out show at Concorde 2 with Teenspirit on Saturday which I had the pleasure of hosting...600 under 18's going bonkers. Scared the living daylights out of me..

And Jonesy was down at the Macmillon Cancer Care Windmill Walk yesterday...After intially putting my name down for the two mile walk, I took on the challenge and did the hardcore nine mile walk, which took in some beautiful sights of the Downs along the way.And cows.

Thanks to everybody who came down and supported the event.

And Dr.Who was voted the Sexiest Male TV Character in a recent poll. Andrea disagreed with this but I think he's hot..

We put it to the text vote and there was an overwhelming vote in favour of 'hot' rather than 'not.'

We spoke to Carol, one of our texters, who loves his face, his smile and his hair.

In fact, she is in love with David Tennant. And so am I...

Andrea has always had dodgy taste in men and this is another example.

On tomorrow's show, we'll be giving you a chance to win a pair of passes for the Great Escape Festival which commences on Thursday.

Come join the ride from 7am!

  • DEANNNNOOOOO! ADDDDOOOOOO!
    Added
    05/09/2008 - 11:55

Today’s Power Shower was dedicated to the bosses wife – apparently Guy and Mrs Boss were signing this in a pub the other week. Don’t worry Boss was there too…Lionel Ritchie – All Night Long. Classic.

DEANO! Albion manager Dean Wilkins has been replaced by old flame Micky Adams. Still to hear whether Dean will accept the head coach position. Caller Bill says grand! Back to the Goldstone days – just like that Kevin Costner film - Field of Dreams – invite them and they will come!

The Rough Guide to England’s out – everywhere got a scathing – we’re a bunch of self-important boring moaners it seems. Brighton didn’t get off lightly and neither did most of country! Our glorious seafronts nothing but a sprawl of hotels shows and tacky amusement arcades. Ooh if you’ve nothing nice to say Rough Guides – tell it SHUT!

Congrats to our mate and photographer (see her work above!) Tess Zahn who has got engaged to the Juice Allstars top goal scorer! Bit of a dilemma on who will do the wedding photos though!?

I went to the Great Moscow State Circus in Preston Park last night and loved it! I don’t think I’m spoiling it to say there is a great cross-bow trick, and some truly talented acrobatic displays! I was surprised at how likeable the clowns were too – I’m not usually a fan! Congrats to our final Circus prize winner – Ruth – for correctly guessing that Guy was spinning plates in the studio today.

This morn was the finale of the Macmillian Cancer Support Windmill competition. Jane from the charity popped in with all the details on Sunday’s event.
Today the Palace Pier was it’s location! Thanks for all your texts! Hope you take part this Sunday in the sponsored charity walk. Lisa who spotted the Windmill at Hove Lawns on the Wednesday was the chosen winner – she’ll be treated to £100 at Usual Suspects on Church Road in Hove.

The final of the Battle of Sexes was a tense affair. Shockingly the boys prevailed and Michael will now be taking his mates on an all expenses trip White Water Rafting! OooooOOOOooh!

Tomorrow sees Concorde2 host Teenspirit – an evening of loads of young talented bands. Cecilly and Chris from Teenspirit popped in for a chat about tomorrows 7pm show down on Madiera Drive – tickets are £6 for adults and a mere £4 for kids. Check out some of the acts with Sarah Powell on Saturday from 10am-2pm.

Beachdown Festival is the hottest thing since today’s weather (it’s hotter in Hove than Australia today! Flaming galah!) Today’s cue to call was Freakpower – one of the many acts performing in August. Congrats to Matt England – he won a pair of tickets – still more chances throughout the day and next week.
Phew! See you next week for Girls Aloud ticket giveaways, Great Escape Festival pass competitions, the chance to win a new look with the Hair and Beauty Loft on George St in Hove AND a chat with Taio Cruz…

Mornin! Another glorious day in downtown Brighton..

Today's Power Hour Shower track...Number one in 1981...Human League 'Don't you want me.'

You were looking out for the Macmillon Windmill this morning....ahead of the walk on Sunday...thanks for all your texts...it was at Rottingdean by the White Horse pub..your in the draw for £100 worth of pampering from Usual Suspects which will be drawn live on the show in the morning. Another location between 8-9 on Friday's Breakfast Show.

Congrats to Siggi who won a family pass for The Great Moscow State Circus, which opens this evening. She correctly guessed that I was fire eating in the studio...managed to singe the moustache off Andrea...last chance to win tomorrow!

Micheal beat Lea in the 'Battle of the Sexes' comp and goes through to tomorrow's final for the Ultimate White Water Rafting Experience.

And a very excitable Kirsty was our first caller for the Beachdown Festival tickets...more tickets up for grabs today with Moody and Sarah.

Sarah came in to talk about the Brighton Racecourse Zipwire event on June 28th as part of our Spirit of the City Campaign. All raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Register now at www.mariecurie.org.uk/event.

Today we talked about our pre-mature love for the weekend..

Apparently Brightonians plan for the weekend before anybody else...we start getting our social diaries filled in by Wednesday...which shows what a wonderfully hedonistc city we are.

Meanwhile in Hastings, they are still getting over Christmas and New Year..

Back tomorrow from 7am for Friday frolics. Come join us!!

  • ED 'BYRNE'S' FAGS WITH ZETA-JONES SHOCKER!
    Added
    05/07/2008 - 09:33

This mornings Power Shower Hour Track was Katrina and the waves – Walking on Sunshine, which (for the time being) we are!

Guy’s brother Mark has gone and brought some woodland near Bexhill! Thanks for the amusing if slightly rude suggestions for a name for Mark’s new wood…

Comedian Ed Bryne visits the big purple Udderbelly cow this coming Sunday and Monday with his Michael Douglas inspired show – Falling Down. Guy caught up with him for a chat – and ironicly he recently bumped into Catherine Zeta Jones – on a fag break… how A list!? Congrats to Susie who won tickets to see the funny man on Monday 12th.

Macmillian Cancer Supports Windmill Walk happens this Sunday - find more info at the Spirit of the City page. To celebrate the walk – we’ve got a £100 pamper voucher from Usual Suspects, in Hove, IF you spot the 5ft Macmillian Windmill either today Thursday or Friday between 8am and 9am.
When you see it - text the location to the studio. MASSIVE response this morning! Today’s correct location was Hove Lawns – in front of Adelaide Crescent! If you got it right – you are in Friday’s draw!
Keep your eyes peeled for it tomorrow!

Brighton and Hove Albion is to lose ten players!… Including two Kerry Mayo’s, no sorry one. Our wish list to Dean Wilkins included David Beckham, Thiery Henry as well as the Juice Allstars, Gary Linkear and Mark Lawrenson

Today Guy was doing some uni-cycling in the studio. He’s been training with the Moscow State Circus – who visit Preston Park tomorrow. Congrats to Masim who won a family pass!

The Birdman contest is heading to Worthing Pier (after Bognor Pier got shortened!) You win a lot of cash for managing to fly 100 metres… Guy reckons with his Batman cape he should wing it! Gettit??!… (groan)

PR Guru and Top Celeb Spotter Jo Brooks from JBPR gave us her usual showbiz update. She was listing celebs that turned up at Bansky’s recent Can’s Festival in London. Kevin Spacey, Ian Brown and the (shorty) Benito Del Toro all turned up to look cool… I mean enjoy the graffiti artists work.
Le Scandal and Tom Tom club at the Udderbelly got her seal of approval. According to Jo the Tom Tom boys have been practising a NEW death deifying element to the show – so grab your tickets whilst you can.

Another tense Battle of the Sexes. Alex the girl in Shoreham lost to Vinny in Goring – final the boys have a win! He’s won tickets to the new ‘battle of the sexes-esque’ film with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz ‘What Happens in Vegas’ PLUS he’ll be in the final to win an all expenses paid White Water Rafting trip!

Today’s Beachdown Festival tickets winner was Sarah! Another chance today with Moody and Sarah! See the full line up via the link on our homepage.

    More from 7am tomorrow…

    Morning you...hope your well..

We kicked off the show today with the Power Shower Hour track...Queen 'Another one bites the dust'..

I shamelessly announced on air that every now and again I have a private Queen party...basically I sit down and sing-a-long to the Greatest Hits. I asked if anyone wanted to come...I'm lonely...and both Bruce and Toby texted me saying they were up for it. But I fear they may have mis-understood the word 'Queen.'

Jonesy popped in with an Odeon Cinema review of 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' starring Russel Brand amoungst others....Jonesy loved it with a score of 8 out of 10...and our winner of VIP tickets was Abigail, who told us that Russels's film debut was St.Trinian's..

Love Fit Cafe dropped by today with breaky refreshments...including the best porridge I have EVER tasted..and today's smoothies..both immune system boosters...one veggie, one fruit. Jonesy wasn't keen on the veg but then he's never had a vegetable. I love both, being a carrot munching type...send in your smoothie recipes to me at guy@juicebrighton.com. The best will be named 'Smoothie Star 2008.'

I interviewed Tom Thumb live from Brisbane, Australia ahead of his troupe's run in this years Brighton Fringe...The Tom Tom Club have their opening night this Friday and it promises to be a festival highlight....he also gave us some live beat boxing (he's up there with Beardyman)...Shayda was the first to call for tickets and will be going this Friday. More tickets up for grabs tomorrow..

And this years suprise guest at Glatonbury 08....wait for it....
