Pride Volunteers Wanted!

Pride is looking to recruit volunteers to help out with Summer Pride events. Pride relies hugely on the support of volunteers and recognises that they are an enormous resource in helping the organisation meet its aims and put on a safe and enjoyable range of events.

We are looking to attract a large and diverse range of volunteers from all sections of the community and this year especially we are keen to really diversify our volunteer workforce.
Volunteering for Pride can help keep Brighton Pride Europe’s largest free park event.

This year we estimate that we will need somewhere in the region of 100-150 volunteers. Most of these will be on the park and parade, such as Volunteer Wheel Stewards for the Parade, Events Assistants working at the park who will undertake a range of tasks to ensure the day runs smoothly, Bucket Collectors to help raise much needed funds for Pride, and Parade Health and Safety Checkers. But we also need volunteers who are able to commit on a longer term basis to help Pride meet its aims and objectives for the year. Under this heading we are looking for volunteer co-ordinators, to help recruit and manage the events volunteers, and events runners who will be involved in all the nitty gritty organisation that will take place in the run up to the summer events themselves.

As part of the current review of volunteering practice which is taking place within the organisation, we will also be looking at expanding other volunteering roles in the future and providing opportunities for people with specific skills to gain experience of volunteering with Pride.

No experience is necessary for the events roles and training will be given. This is a great chance to meet new people, gain some experience and see Pride from a different angle
