Jonesy’s verdict –

In the modern age of spectacular computer animation, the special FX in this are just good without making your jaw drop…

Constantly striving to be epic, this film falls just a bit flat, with an average plot, an average cast and average action equalling a very average, albeit enjoyable, popcorn flick

6 out of 10 on a good day – but being the first day back after Easter hols, lets go for a nice round 5!

Jonesy’s Verdict –

It’s never going to win any awards for plot originality, but who cares when a film is this fun?

One of the most visceral, no-holds-barred, flat-out entertaining films I’ve seen in a long long time

But also one of the goriest – and certainly not for the faint hearted

It’s obvious that no-one involved in the film, infront of the camera or behind it, took themselves too seriously, and as a result, they’ve made a fantastic, highly enjoyable action flick that doesn’t try be something its not (take not 10,000BC)

Funny black humour throughout, the best scenes come from the leading female’s inventive use of a machine gun – it’ll do for assault rifles what Heather Mills has done for prosthetic legs…

An easy 8 out of 10, and if this is your sort of film, I’d plump for a point or so higher!
