Portslade Man remanded on kidnap charge following disappearance of Hove woman - now found safe
Stephen James Webber, 41,of George Williams Mews has been remanded in custody after being charged with one offence of kidnap, two offences of assault by beating and abh. He appears at Lewes Crown Court on October 5th
Stephen James Webber, 41, unemployed, of George Williams Mews, Portslade, is due to appear in custody at Brighton Magistrates Court this morning, Monday 16 July, charged with one offence of kidnap, two offences of assault by beating, and one offence of causing actual bodily harm.
The charges follow police enquiries into the disappearance on Tuesday 10 July of Laura Chapman, 26 of Westbourne Gardens, Hove. Laura was found near Eastbourne on Saturday 14 July, and after medical treatment for minor injuries at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, she returned to her family.
