Rizzle Kicks - Mama Do The Hump

The New Music Showcase

Following gigs from Rizzle Kicks, Kidda and Sweet Sweet Lies, Juice 107.2 & Asahi are very proud to announce the return of the New Music Showcase… Brighton's best band night!

Starting out as acoustic two-piece anti-folk heroes, The BobbyMcGee's havedeveloped via indiepop worship into the brand new 7 piece "Lindy-Pop" brass fronted indie swing orchestra that you'll see at the Juice New Music Showcase.

Along the way they have played everywhere from New York to Hong Kong, appeared in a Dizzee Rascal video, performed with Brian Eno, recorded in John Peel's old studio and played all the major UK music festivals. Oh andlead singer Jimmy Cairneyfound the time to win The Weakest Link.

Inventors of the term tweecore, they're the only ukulele band to ever gain a 4 star review from Kerrang, they have been highly praised by ARTROCKER, were NME's new favourite band for 1 week in 2008, had a tune used on an TV advert for Channel 4,and have been described by Jarvis Cocker as "Fantastic!"

This February they are due to start another series of releases with Manchester based label CHERRYADE leading up to their 2nd full length album "Je Vien A Recherche Mes BON BONS".

The night will be the first Brighton outing for these new tunes and is sure to be another great "Riot in a sweetshop!"

Watch their video L.O.V.E is a 4Letter Word.

Local support comes from Native Roses, whose old band member Birdy has subsequently landed a great solo recording contract with Atlantic. Native Roses have released a four track EP this year and are cutting a record with some old school players including a former member of Roxy music.

Opening the night will be a newcomer to Brighton, solo female singer Moya – whose gorgeous vocals can be heard on the EP out soon called Telling Tales.

Tickets available from See tickets £3 on the door.
